4.11.15 wedding week.

the week before our wedding was a complete marathon of trips to the airport, wedding prep, and lots of cake.

when the four of us decided to have a double wedding in april in the south, we figured that not a lot of people would be able to come. all of our friends only had a week off from school for spring break and we had family from all over the country. it ended up working out perfectly. all of our family and most of our friends were able to come all the way to south carolina. i can't describe how much it meant to me to have everyone i love in one place for a whole week. i seriously couldn't have asked for anything better.

a week before the wedding (april 4) curtis came into town. this was his first time in south carolina and i was so excited to have him at my house! we had been separated for 8 weeks too long.

S U N D A Y
morning, chandler & tanner and curtis & i were interviewed by the local news about our double wedding. it was alittle weird, but cool to share our story. here is the interview:

Double blessing as twin sisters get married over weekend

curtis & i spent in charleston. kind of a little pre honeymoon. it was awesome to show him a place that i grew up loving.

morning, chandler & i got up early to pick up our best friend ashley from the florence airport. (most everyone that came into town arrived at the florence airport and i felt so bad for them, because that airport is SO CRAPPY.) never was there a more loud reunion in that tiny airport. that day the three of us got our nails done, met up with the boys for lunch, and got our marriage licenses.

that night i was able to go through the columbia temple. this was one of the best nights of my life. i was able to get endowed with my whole family and future husband there. it was an amazing night for my parents to see all of their kids in the temple together. i feel so blessed.

the rest of the people from rexburg got to my house after a loooong 24 hours of traveling. jodi, ashley, & ellis stayed at my house while the rest of them stayed in a hotel. we just hung out that day and got ready for chandler & tanner's rehearsal dinner.

their dinner was awesome. we had tables set up in my backyard, candles in the pool, and lights lining the fence. i gave a little toast, because i was chandler's maid of honor (womb to tomb) and then everyone else said something about the happy couple. when dinner was over tanner was very excited to light off some fireworks in our back yard, because fireworks are legal in south carolina.

after their rehearsal dinner, we all separated for the bachelor and bachelorette parties. my two older brothers and three older sisters threw us the best parties! the girls went on a scavenger hunt around all of columbia in search of trashy underwear, danced to every hit from the 2000s, and had long lessons about sex. while the boys played an intense version of dodge ball, toured the underground tunnels, and almost got arrested for having a roman candle fight. it was probably one of the funniest nights of my life. i am so lucky to have such crazy siblings that make everything fun!

curtis' family got into town just in time for the real craziness to start! most of thursday we were at my house putting things together for the reception on saturday. it was alittle hectic, holy cow. you don't realize how many little details go into a wedding until you get married that's for sure. a huge thank you to everyone that was at my house helping with those million little things.

that night we celebrated the beginning of wedding weekend by renting out a skating rink for a party. when chandler and i first got engaged we always joked about having a wedding party there, because skating is so fun. but we actually did it and it was the best! much to my surprise when i got there my parents could skate better than i could! everyone skated to usher and whitney houston and had a grand ole time. we had pizza and cupcakes and there were balloons. this is something i really will never forget.

F R I D AY
morning we all got up pretty early to go to the venue to decorate and put up lights. chandler and tanner didn't get married until 2 that afternoon so we had alittle bit of time before we had to get ready.
chandler and tanner's was the first wedding i had ever been to and it was so wonderful to see them be sealed in the temple. (it was also weird to see them, because that was me and curtis tomorrow) it was a fun wedding to be a part of.

that night was curtis & i's rehearsal dinner at california dreaming. the food was amazing and all of our family and friends were there. our parents all gave little speechs that made us cry. we are so lucky to have such great parents. ashley rogers was my maid of honor for the night because chandler was a little preoccupied...so she also gave a toast that was the sweetest thing i had ever heard. it was a great night.

after the dinner we went back to the venue to help out some more then head to sleep. the night before i got married was very relaxed. i hung out with my siblings for alittle bit and slept with ashley for the last time.

one month.

a month from today ill be Mrs. Spear.
a month from today ill be married for time & all eternity to my pal curtis.

staying home for the winter has been a whirlwind of work & wedding plans. it is hard to slow down and appreciate the important moments: enjoying the weather of the south, the little time i got to spend with my fiance, taking bridal portraits with my sister, tasting wedding cakes with my mom, racing kids around nursery, spending quality time spent with my family. i am so thankful for this period of time i have with the people i love before i move back to idaho for i don't know how long.

i have to constantly remind myself that wedding receptions are a wonderful way to celebrate your love, but it is not the most important thing. the only thing that matters is that curtis & i have the privilege of being sealed in the temple on april 11th. don't get me wrong i am so excited to party at the reception, but nothing tops my excitement for starting my life with curtis.

December 25, 2014

merry & bright.

my favorite time of year went back too quick. i really enjoyed all the holidays with all my favorite people.

T H A N K F U L
i had the privilege of going to my fiance's house in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

i love colorado, but had never really spent more than a couple days there.
we flew to colorado on tuesday night and stayed until sunday afternoon. the spear house was beautiful and it was so fun to see where curtis had grown up!
we hung out with his family a lot and they are so great. we went to an avalanches hockey game, my first hockey game ever. it was so much fun and i loved every second of it.
thanksgiving was low-key and relaxing, one of my favorites. i am so thankful for the spear family that welcomed me in their home so easily.
we hung out with my friend ashley in downtown colorado. walked around, went to voodoo donut, and sushi that night.
we also got to register at bed, bath, & beyond and target while we were there. registering is not as fun as it looks haha. it is just very stressful to try and pick out items that you could potentially have for the rest of your marriage. it was overwhelming, but we can change a lot of things online so we will be fine.
all in all it was a fantastic week and i'm so glad i could spend it with curtis!

S E A S O N S  G R E E T I N G S
christmas is my favorite holiday by far. i love the decorations, the music, the traditions, just everything. this year i got home for christmas on the 21st. it is so nice to be back in a real home, with home cooked meals, and comfortable couches.
so i have to stay home for the whole winter semester (which is from january to april). i was pretty bummed when i found out i had to this, because it stinks to be away from all my friends and curtis for so long. however, i am grateful for this opportunity i have to earn money and spend time with my family.
this was kind of my last christmas at home and i loved it. we spent time with extended family as well as hanging out with the nieces and nephew. we made cookies, played games, danced, and exchanged gifts.
i love my family and i love christmas, because it reminds me what is really important. i am so thankful for everything i have and the birth of the savior that makes it all possible.

i hope everyone had a great christmas!

from me to we.

O F F I C I A L
curtis spear and hannah titus are engaged to be married. i never expected that this would be the road i would take, but i could not be happier.

on a freezing night in november curtis asked me to marry him. it was absolutely perfect in every way.
on a regular wednesday curtis, chandler, tanner, and i were just supposed to be going to big jud's for dinner.
when we were driving to dinner we all saw a christmas tree farm on the side of the highway. i pleaded with curtis that we stop and take a couple pictures by the trees. while walking to the middle of the field i saw four trees stringed with white lights, four trees covered in pictures of us, and a blanket. this was it.
i knew what was happening, but could not register what was going on. before i could react, curtis was down on one knee telling me he loved me and asking if i would marry him. i do not remember saying yes or even him putting the ring on my finger. i was so shocked.
before i could even gather my thoughts, all our friends popped out from behind trees and hugged us.
my reaction was not what i expected. i thought i would be crying or freaking out in some way, but i wasn't. i just couldn't handle what was happening. it was the BEST DAY EVER.

getting engaged is kind of like your birthday. you think you will feel totally different after, but you don't. me and curt's relationship is still the same. and that's what i like about it, because i wouldn't change one thing.

H I S T O R Y
curtis and i met in kind of a weird way >>> sometime in october of last year curtis added me and a couple of my friends on twitter. we all thought this was kind of weird, because we had never met him before.

one night in november my friend ashley and i were at this communication senior showcase when we saw curtis at a booth. it was love at first sight. JUST KIDDING it was far from it. we went up to him and awkwardly asked how he knew us. curtis told us that he met me at a party last spring (which was definitely a lie).
i had heard a couple of things about curtis in my past semester, but didn't really know who he was. i did , however, know that he was different in some way. i was not interested in him yet, but i could tell he would be sticking around for awhile.
over the winter i was at home and curt was working in rexburg. we talked alittle bit on and off, but nothing serious.
when i came back for spring curtis waited a long time before asking me out, waiting until his birthday in may to actually do it. we went to the drive ins together and i saw him every single day after that. i was lucky that i never had to deal with the "3 days" rule, because we both knew it was something after the first date.
through out spring semester we continued to date. we became boyfriend & girlfriend, said i love you, and even talked about marriage all within two and a half months. everything was timed perfectly for us and it was some of the happiest times of my life.
over the seven week break i went home and we had to do long distance for awhile. this is really when we seriously talked about getting married and i officially decided i was not going to europe next spring. it was hard to be apart, but so good for our relationship.

picking up right where we left off, fall has been a blast. curtis and i get the privilege of spending every day together. curtis met my family and i get to spend thanksgiving with his. things have never been better.

i am beyond lucky that i get to spend the rest of forever with my best friend.

working for the weekend.

these past three weekends have been spent outside of rexburg & they have been so great that they have made my mondays 10x worst.

J A C K S O N  H O L E
[yellow stone park, jackson lake, grand teton park, jenny lake]

one of my favorite weekends took place in one of my (new) favorite places. i officially got to check it off my bucket list. six of us made the small journey to jackson hole, wy for the weekend. we thought we needed to take advantage of the wonderful fall weather & before we got too lazy to leave the house.

driving the hour and a half to jackson hole was one of the prettiest drives i've ever seen. idaho/wyoming has so many beautiful mountains & trees that it made me want to move here for a second (just a second).
jackson hole is the cutest little town with shops, bakeries, taverns, & park. everything was cabin themed with a string of lights & has anthers mounted to them. it made me want to cowboy boots & go hunting.
saturday we had the opportunity to go to grand teton national park. we payed to get in & were able to see yellow stone, jackson lake, & jenny lake. i have never seen a better view than when we pulled over to the side of the road to see jackson lake. we also went a little ways into yellow stone park. the road to old faithful was closed, but we were able to see a lot of geysers that were pretty impressive.
i wanted to stay their forever, but thank you for the amazing weekend, JACKSON!

my brother & sister n law recently had a baby (piper gray), so my parents flew to utah for a week. last friday curtis, tanner, chan, & i spent the weekend with my whole family in provo.
when we got there the four of us went out to dinner with my parents. it was great for them to actually meet curtis, so they didn't think i was just making him up.
saturday we went to this fall fair thing called cornbelly's with the family. then just hung out at the house with everyone. the baby nieces warmed up to tanner & curtis pretty fast. my niece kate sneezed on curtis twice, so i don't know how she felt about him. we also celebrated six peoples' birthdays in my family, so we had six cakes. it was awesome.
on sunday little piper was blessed, we had dinner, & were on our way back to rexburg. it was such a nice weekend with my favorite people.

i had the opportunity to go to bear lake for a second time this past weekend and it was the best! it was halloweekend so about 18 of us headed to a friend's cabin right by bear lake. it was super pretty with the changing leaves and blue lake. we played games, carved pumpkins, rode the razor, went off roading, and had the best shakes. it was so fun! [me & curt were robbers by the way]

S I D E  N O T E: my baby sister got engaged!!! by baby, i mean twin sister, got engaged to one of my best friends tanner holmes. they had been dating for almost a year and finally decided to tie the knot. wednesday evening all of our close friends went to the dunes to hide and set off fireworks after tanner asked for her hand. things didn't go according to plan, but it was perfect! it was so fun to see it all happen. i love them so much & i am so happy for them!
