4.11.15 the wedding day.

the morning of my wedding I woke up and got ready in no rush. We were getting married at noon so I didn’t need to be at the temple until 11:00. Everything ran smoothly. I was strangely calm and not very nervous. I just wanted to get married already!

The ceremony was beautiful and surprisingly short. I always thought the actual marriage lasted way longer. Anyway we got married, hugged everyone, and then I changed into my wedding dress. I showed Curtis for the first time in the temple waiting room (in front a whole youth group).
You know the final scene of Titantic, when Rose goes to heaven and everyone she knows claps when they see her? Yeah that’s exactly what it felt like when we walked out of the temple. Its nice to know that other people are happy that you are married too.

Taking pictures was long, but a lot of fun. i love when people match and I love taking pictures, so it was perfect. My new brother-n-law brought his drone and took some aerial video of the temple and all the people. It was awesome!  After we were done taking photos we headed to the venue to eat and take some more pictures. I don’t think my face has ever hurt so much from smiling before.

We had an amazing photographer, Emily Chappell. Emily worked so well with everyone and the craziness of a double wedding. I am so glad that we had her there! I would recommend her to anyone getting married in south Carolina.

When the reception started I was so happy with the way things turned out. The venue was decorated so well, the flowers were beautiful, and the weather couldn’t have been any better. Something I didn’t expect was how “go with the flow” and relaxed I was when we got to the reception. If you know me at all you know that is not my personality, but I was already married and that was the only thing that really mattered.

The reception was GREAT.  We had so much family there from all three sides and an amazing wedding party. We had our brother-n-law Matt dj the party for us, because his taste in music is off the charts. Matt even made a confetti cannon that went us multiple times during the dancing.

Curtis has made this little joke with me forever that during our first dance he was going to twirl me around then bend over and twerk on me. I didn’t think he would actually do it. Well during the first couples’ dance Curtis twirled me around, bent over, and ripped his pants down the whole seam. It was hilarious! The look on his face and everyone else’s when they found out his pants ripped was priceless. Luckily Curtis had tanner’s groomsmen pants in his car to change into. This is a story I will always tell our kids.

The rest of the reception went on as normal. We talked and hugged a million people, danced a lot, and didn’t eat any of our food. I was forced to eat my own wedding cake though, because Curtis lovingly threw it in my face. I wasn’t expecting it that’s what made it worse! (My nose bled a little bit from the impact) Anyway before we knew it the party was all over. My wonderful bridesmaids helped me pee and get my stuff together before exiting though a tunnel of sparklers.

The whole day was a dream. It was everything that I wanted and more. I was amazed with how much everyone helped and made it such a great night. I can’t thank them enough.

Here are some of my favorite moments that were captured:
